HOLIDAY YOUTH PROGRAM LAUNCHED AT CLUB RAFIKI

The Holiday Youth Program was launched to promote the well-being of young people during the school holidays by instilling Rwandan cultural values, providing opportunities for sports and talent development, promoting good behavior, encouraging a love for education and hard work, and protecting them from negative influences and risky behaviors.

At the district level, the program was officially launched last week, on 24 July 2026, in Rwezamenyo Sector at the Club Rafiki Model Site.

The guest of honor at the launch was the Executive Administrator of Nyarugenge District, Mr. Ingangare Alexis who urged youth to use this opportunity to develop their talent, learn the Rwandan cultural values and avoid risk behaviors like excessive drinking, drug abuse etc, 

Across all program sites, the launch featured awareness sessions, various sports and recreational activities, messages from local leaders, and entertainment.

Attendance was as follows:

• Female youth: 9,725
• Total participants: 20,205
